The uniform for girls is:

• St Peter’s navy polo shirt with badge.

• St Peter’s V-necked jumper, St Peter’s zip-up top, or St Peter’s cardigan all with badge. (No other jumper should be brought into school.)

• Girls may only wear either: Trutex GTB (Girls Black Trouser); or Banner Hadley (Girls Black Trouser); or Banner Henley (Girls Black Pleated Skirt); or Trutex GSC (Girls Black Pencil Skirt).

• The skirt should be worn at knee length.

• Low heeled black shoes (heels no more than 3 cms above the top of the sole). Boots, trainers and backless shoes are not permitted and must not be worn to and from school.

• Dark socks, or plain black tights tights. Black leggings are not acceptable.

• Trousers – Boys may only wear either: Trutex style TFF (Boys Black Flat Front Plain Trouser); or Trutex style TVT (Boys Black Jet Pocket Trouser).

• Low heeled black leather shoes. Boots, trainers or backless shoes are not permitted and must not be worn to and from school.

• Dark socks.

All students

• Outdoor clothing, coats, scarves, hats etc. should not be worn indoors after 8.30 am and should be kept in bags or lockers.

• Hair should be kept neat and tidy and of one reasonable length, style and must be of one natural colour. (Shaved heads, stencilled, or spiked hair are not acceptable.) No hair should be shorter than a number 2 cut.

• Make-up, including nail varnish, should not be worn in school.

• No jewellery should be worn apart from a watch and not more than one plain gold or silver stud in each earlobe, no other piercings are permitted.

• You must wear a plain white apron for Design and Technology (workshops) and have a (second) plain white apron to wear for Design and Technology (Food).

• Only thin plain black belts with discreet buckles may be worn.

• No garment should be visible underneath the polo shirt.

You must

• Not wear denim or leather type coats in school.

• Bring your belongings in a bag which is large enough to hold an A4-type folder – smaller bags and handbags are not permitted.

CLOTHING FOR PE

Girls must wear:

Indoors

• St Peter’s maroon polo-shirt and navy sports shorts/skirts.

• You may wear black or navy tracksuits when appropriate.

• Plimsolls or trainers with non-marking soles.

• Socks for PE preferably white. Outdoors

• St Peter’s maroon polo shirt or rugby top.

• Navy sports shorts/skirts.

• You may wear black or navy tracksuits when appropriate.

• Hockey/soccer boots when appropriate.

• Navy or white socks.

• You may also wear a navy blue sweatshirt if the weather is cold.

• Shin Pads must be worn for all Football and Hockey lessons and extra-curricular activities.

• Mouthguards must be worn for all Rugby and Hockey lessons and extra-curricular activities.

Boys must wear:

Indoors:

• St Peter’s maroon polo shirt.

• Navy sports shorts.

• You may wear black or navy tracksuits when appropriate.

• Plimsolls or trainers with non-marking soles.

• Socks for PE preferably white. Outdoors:

• St Peter’s rugby shirt. • Navy sports shorts.

• You may wear black or navy tracksuits when appropriate.

• St Peter’s rugby socks.

• Rugby/soccer boots (no plastic studs for rugby) when appropriate.

• Football and/or Rugby boots with studs must be worn for all Football and Rugby on grass playing surfaces. This will apply in both lessons and extra curricular activities.

• Shin Pads must be worn for all Football and Hockey lessons and extra-curricular activities.

• Mouthguards must be worn for all Rugby and Hockey lessons and extra-curricular activities.

Girls and Boys

• You must NOT wear ear studs or watches during PE.

• Money, ear studs and watches may be handed in to staff to look after during PE lessons.

• You need a towel for showers after all PE lessons.

Kit policy

If any student is injured or is too ill to fully participate in the lesson, they should still bring and wear kit to their PE lesson. Although they may not be able to fully participate practically in the lesson, we don’t want it to become a barrier to their learning of tactics, evaluation, skills and fitness knowledge and we will still include them as much as possible in the lesson.

ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT

A waterproof bag/rucksack, preferably with two shoulder straps and large enough to hold an A4 folder (small bags and handbags are not permitted)

A warm waterproof jacket for the winter

Two pencils and a sharpener

Two pens (black or blue ink)

Geometry set Ruler and eraser

Coloured pencils

A reading book

PE kit as required

Technology aprons as required

Scientific calculator “Franklin” Spell Checker (or similar) for anyone who may need help with spelling

These items must NOT be brought into school:

Scooters, skateboards, mobile ‘phones, Tippex, laser pens,personal CDs/personal stereos/mp3 players or chewing gum, under any circumstances.

Students should not have the following in their possession under any circumstances:

Cigarettes, matches, lighters, alcohol, aerosol cans, illegal substances, knives of any kind. Personal possessions All students should mark their name on their uniform and equipment clearly. Any lost unmarked items which remain unclaimed go into the stock of the St Peter’s Association second-hand uniform shop, for sale. The PTA organises the return of lost property which is on display each Friday before half term and end of term. Please remind your child to have a look on those days if they have lost anything as after a certain time anything not collected is given to charity. Please also remember to put their names on all property as it makes life much easier!
